International Journal of Ceramics, Composites, Science and Advanced Technologies
The International Journal of Ceramics, Composites, Science and Advanced Technologies, published by the Georgian Technical University, is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. We follow the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adhere to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
- Editorial Responsibilities and Governance
- Editor-in-Chief Responsibility: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal shall be published based on scientific merit, relevance to the scope, and the results of the peer-review process.
- Editorial Board: Our board consists of recognized international experts in ceramics, materials science, and advanced technologies. Full names and institutional affiliations are maintained on our Editorial Board Page.
- Independence: Editorial decisions are made without interference from the publisher (Georgian Technical University) or any commercial entities.
- Peer Review Process
- Method: This journal employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process. Neither the author nor the reviewer knows each other’s identity.
- Criteria: All research articles are reviewed by at least two independent experts. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and must not be members of the journal’s internal editorial staff.
- Integrity: Reviewers are required to treat manuscripts as confidential documents. Any attempt by authors to influence the review process will lead to immediate rejection. We do not guarantee manuscript acceptance or specific peer-review timelines.
- Authorship and Contributor Responsibilities
- Authorship Criteria: Authorship is limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All contributors must be listed as co-authors.
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. The journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism or redundant publication, is grounds for rejection or retraction.
- Multiple Submissions: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is considered unethical and is not permitted.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
- Authors: All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence their work.
- Reviewers/Editors: Any reviewer or editor who has a conflict of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions connected to the papers must recuse themselves from the process.
- Research Misconduct and Ethical Oversight
- Identification of Misconduct: The publisher and editors will take proactive steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred (e.g., data falsification, citation manipulation, or fabrication).
- Handling Allegations: In the event of alleged misconduct, the journal follows COPE flowcharts to conduct investigations. If an error is found, the journal will issue a correction, clarification, retraction, or apology as appropriate.
- Copyright and Licensing
- Copyright: Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. The copyright holder is clearly named on all published articles.
- Open Access: Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution [e.g., CC BY 4.0] license. This allows others to share and adapt the work, provided the original work is properly cited.
- Repository Policy: Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their final accepted version or published PDF in institutional or third-party repositories.
- Financial Transparency
- Author Fees: The International Journal of Ceramics, Composites, Science and Advanced Technologies does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or color image charges.
